Dan and I took German together in high school. After high school he enlisted in the Marines and was injured while overseas. In a couple weeks he is marrying the love of his life, Becka, who is finishing school to be a professional dog trainer, and is an absolute riot.

Model Jena Kay at Lacamas Lake in Washington State.
A shoot with Jessica Owens at Portland State. The sun had just gone done, and the rain had started up.
When Jessica and I met up to shoot she told me that every photographer that had ever photographed her had only wanted to take photos of a “pretty blonde”. I wanted to see her as more than that. Noone had ever talked to her or gotten to know her. She had never been photographed more as she dressed, with her love of dance, and not just a pretty blonde girl. She had also never had any photos which were edgy or a little darker. The rainy day we shot seemed perfect for that. We shot around an outdoor garden area at Portland State University, and after the rain got heavy we ducked into a nearby parking garage for a couple shots.
Shot indoors in a bathtub full of water, some milk, and lavender. And a wonderful model too of course!
I shot this set with Shayna a couple of months ago. As we conversed before deciding to work together we came to the realization that we both had been wanting to do a bathtub shoot for quite some time. She was an extremely wonderful model to work with and imagined numerous poses even though constrained to a very small set. An absolute pleasure.
A rainy March day shoot with Jessica Owens
Jessica and I shot a couple of weekends ago at Portland State University. She had never been to Portland State before and was blown away by how massive and beautiful the campus is. She currently dances for a professional sports team and does ballet.
We shot this look outdoors and on a covered porch as well as another set elsewhere on campus. The other set has a much different feel to it, so I will be blogging it separately. During this set we had to fight torrential downpours followed by odd periods of intense sunshine, hence the title of this set. Enjoy.
Shayna and I had an idea for a collaboration. We had both been wanting to try taking photos in a bath tub for quite some time. She lives near Washington Park and had some vintage dresses a local clothing consigner gave her in exchange for for some work. We decided to trek up to the park and take some photos before going to the bathtub. We sought after a tree with a large root system, but ended up at this haunting tree instead. I love how these turned out.
